Ryan Murphy will hear us!
Let us introduce you to Ryan Murphy, also known as the God of Glee, hated by many but loved every time we get a gay couple kiss on the show. Ryan has created a twitter page yesterday - what?! Yes. He is totally new to the whole twitter concept but already has over 56,000 followers and still counting. Before, we didn't have direct access to this person - the man who decides what music gets on Glee, what songs will be covered and also HOW they will be covered. So, you can understand how happy we are that we can now project all our twitter spamming on one person, and one person only. The Murphinator will know that we exist... especially since he has announced a Glee Season 4 Q&A session. Ryan tweeted the following "Thanks for following and for so much love. GLEE S4 Q&A in the morning. Stay tuned for my ready, set, go!" and later in a reply to someone else "Tweet your GLEE questions starting at 9am PST. The five coolest Q's will be answered." Nine o'clock in the morning for the west coast is 5pm for the UK - we live in the future, remember? This is especially convienent for us seeing as this is a time when we're usually online, and hopefully so are all of you! Now we can already hear you think, Ryan will only pick 5 questions to actually answer... those will probably be about the plot of season 4 and not about the music... We know this. Our aim isn't to get an answer, although that would be cool... but no, our aim is to have Ryan go insane with the number of McFly tweets he's getting. He doesn't have to reply to us, he only has to see our tweets and be confused but also curious and then click a link. This is why we'll need a lot of you to join in and spam Ryan. Don't send him hate - we disapprove of hateful messages! But kindly ask him if he's willing to consider a McFly song to be covered on season 4 of Glee, followed by a few youtube links and maybe the link to our website. Easy. And to make things even easier for you, we typed out a pre-set tweet you can just copy and paste and send to @MrRPMurphy repeatedly: "@MrRPMurphy Is there a chance you'd consider have Glee cover a McFly song on S4? http://youtu.be/zLhRpZ6_zck #mcflyonglee" or use this one "@MrRPMurphy Would you consider have Glee cover a McFly song on S4? http://youtu.be/4GF59Awx-gI #mcflyonglee" Post these tweets repeatedly to Ryan at 5pm tomorrow afternoon (or 6pm for main land Europe!) and if you're from the US, it's 9am PT and 12pm (noon) ET. Let Ryan hear us! Who knows if he clicks a link and watches a youtube video... Fingers crossed everyone!

Quick word of thanks!
The fact that we started a mission 24 hours ago and that people are still going is something our minds have a hard time understanding. You guys are absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for the support - a lot of you have been spamming your twitter feeds with hashtags and links and have been playing the tagging game for hours! We wanted the Glee missions to be fun, and seeing the reaction we're getting from people joining in and from people finding out about our mission is a bit overwhelming. Besides people having fun tagging officials on McFly's camp and on Glee's camp, there's Glee fans and McFly fans that had not yet heard of mission:MCFLY and obviously also hadn't heard of our Glee Mission.
Introducing the idea of McFly On Glee to people who are (almost) even more excited than we are about the concept is amazing. To see people's first reaction and then joining in with the mission is what keeps us going strong. Because when others decide to stop tweeting and helping, there's others that are joining in and it seems that this is what has made this mission last for (nearly over) 24 hours now. The reactions of people have all been positive. Even from people who don't like Glee; getting tweets that say "I don't watch Glee, and don't really like it, but I would watch that episode!" and others saying "I would start watching Glee from the first episode and catch up on the series if they would cover a McFly song" and "Think of what it means for McFly and American fans!". Those tweets are our favourites! This is exactly what this mission is about! Getting McFly on Glee means that so many people will come in touch with their music and McFly will be introduced into so many new households all over the world, it'll create opportunity for them and for fans all over the world, especially in America. So this is us saying thank you. Thank you for not shoving us aside, thank you for not shrugging our ideas off, thank you for saying 'hey this is a good idea' and thank you even more for passing our mission on. This is not the end of it - there's still some goals to reach, but we felt this post is appropriate because you've all been amazing! Glee starts filming in about 1,5 weeks. That means scripts are being written and we assume that the scripts for the first two episodes (at least) are already finished and have been handed out to the actors. This is the time when we shouldn't give up; right now Glee's officials actually have the chance to listen and to act upon our wishes. So don't stop tweeting. We never created an end to our Glee Mission Tagging game, which might just turn out to come in handy - let's keep going! Don't stop believing because we're fairly sure that we can do this and actually make this happen!!

Glee Mission Tag Game!
Right now the TV show Glee is right in the middle of it's summer break. This means that right now, everyone's on holiday... but don't be fooled. We know that the writers are busy coming up with plans for the next season in which a lot of things will be different so a lot of thought has to go into the storyline. This means that right now, whilst everyone thinks it's quiet and not much is happening, there's actually a lot going on. Because of this, it's the perfect time to go out of our way and get our Glee Mission Part 2: Don't Stop Believing going!
A while ago we've asked Gleeks and Galaxy Defenders to answer a few questions on camera and send it to us. The video below is our creation of all these videos put together. Before you read on, please watch it and share it on twitter/tumblr/facebook! In the first part of our mission, we released the Spam Army and managed to get a reply of one of the producers of Glee. That means we've been heard. Now we need to let them know that we mean serious business. Instead of going at it like crazy animals like we did the last time, we've decided to make it more fun for you as well for the people who will be receiving the messages. GLEE MISSION TAG! 23 June 2012 from 15:00pm til 18:00pm (UK TIME!) We assume that you've all grown up with the playground game 'tag'. It's the game where you tap someone so they become the person to tap someone else - it involves a lot of running and chasing. Don't worry - Glee Mission Tag doesn't involve any physical activity (yay) because it'd be pretty difficult to be running around with your laptop outside. Glee Mission Tag is an online version of the game in which you will tag people online who will then have to tag someone else etc. Wait a minute there, mission:MCFLY. Isn't this basically spam in the form of chainmail? Sort of. But not really. Instead of people going "You need to pass this on or else your mum will die and in three days a monster will come out of your closet and kill you in your sleep!" it's McFly and Glee fans going "Hey check this out, it's pretty cool." So definitely a lot less aggressive and a lot more fun! How are we going to do this exactly? mission:MCFLY starts the game. We're 'it'. Because we are the organisers, we've chosen to be 'it' forever. We can tag whoever we want, whenever we want because we feel the need to keep control and not to be restricted by any game rules. This way it'll probably just be us who will be on the spamming side of the fence. As for YOU... not so much. If you get Glee Mission Tagged, you have been McGleeked whether you like it or not. In order to keep the game going, you will have to tag FIVE OTHER PEOPLE. There's NO tagging the tagger - it'd be far too annoying to be tagged every time you tag someone. In the tagging tweet you'll have to post a link to the video and a link to the mission:MCFLY page as well as the words "McFly On Glee". If you want to hashtag McFly On Glee you are free to do so to make chances of a trending topic bigger. To make things a little easier, we've set up a tweet you can simply copy and paste: You are McGleeked! http://youtu.be/4GF59Awx-gI Tag 5 other people in the GLEE MISSION TAG GAME http://missionmcfly.com #McFlyOnGlee But what if I tag someone who doesn't have a clue? We will post up an update explain the Glee Mission Tag game with its rules. This way people will understand what's going on if they click the link and will hopefully go on to tag 5 others. This way the word will get spread very quickly and lots more Gleeks and Galaxy Defenders will join in. How will Glee notice? If you get tagged, it's important that you tag AT LEAST ONE GLEE RELATED PERSON. Whether that's an actor, a director, a vocal coach or a writer. Anyone surrounding the Glee TV show will do. To spare you some work, here's a list of Glee related people you can tag: @bfalchuk @aliadler @hitchmichael @martinoxon @mhodgson207 @alxanders @adamanders (These are people who write Glee, produce Glee, produce their music and basically have everything to do with Glee behind the scenes.) @GLEEonFOX @gleetv (If we get an RT of one of these guys, we have a HUGE audience to work with!) @druidDUDE @DarrenCriss @msamberpriley @jennaushkowitz @rikerR5 @curtmega @titusmakinjr // Sign the twitition to show your support and to spread the word easily! Glee Mission: Don't Stop Believing
The message Glee sends is to never stop believing: in yourself, in your plans, in your ideas and in your opinion. That's exactly what we're doing. We're going to show people how much Glee has affected us as people, as well as how McFly has had such a huge impact on our day-to-day lives. These two link up so perfectly that we can't NOT do something about this. Why McFly hasn't been on Glee before is a mystery, but instead of solving the mystery, we're going to change it.
In our previous mission we tried to show the people surrounding the TV show Glee what McFly can do as a band. We showcased their talent, their personalities, what kind of music they make and tried to convince officials as well as fans of the show that covering McFly isn't at all a strange idea - in fact, it's a brilliant idea. This time around, we want to show people that the message Glee sends out links up perfectly with McFly. Glee is all about giving people confidence to be themselves, to believe in their own ideas and their own opinions. Glee gives people the confidence to stop pretending to be what people think they need to be in order to be accepted. McFly isn't at all a stranger to this message: with songs like Smile and One For The Radio they've shown people that we all look the same in the dark and that we don't need to look amazing to have amazing things happen to us. CALLING ALL GALAXY GLEEKS We are looking for "Galaxy Gleeks" - yes, we just did the most horrible thing and combined fandom names. We apologise. If you're both a HUGE fan of Glee and a HUGE fan of McFly, we want you! If Glee has had an impact on your life for the better, we want you! If McFly has made you realise that you're not alone, we want you! The only thing that you need is some answers to our questions, a personal story, a video camera and a YouTube account. If you fit the critera above, please keep on reading to find out how you can be exclusively involved with our "Glee Mission part 2: Don't Stop Believing" video. If we don't get enough people joining in, this won't work (like with all missions we do, we need as many people as possible). Film yourself, answering the following questions:Tip: When English isn't your first language and you feel a bit self concious talking into a camera, you can also write your answers down and place your answers right next to the camera. You can then film yourself reading them out and it'll look like you are being interviewed by someone who's behind the camera! When you are filming, please think of the following things:
Upload your video to YouTube and set the video to private and allow 'missionmcfly' to see your video. Either do that, or 'unlist' your video, which hides your video from the public. Send the DIRECT LINK to your youtube video to contact@missionmcfly.com We are accepting videos until Sunday, 22 April at Midnight (UK time). Once we have edited the entire film, we'll make a huge day of uploading it and then you'll hear more about how you can help us in the Glee mission! Sign the twitition to show your support and to spread the word easily! Add this twibbon to your twitter profile picture to show your support! Disclaimer: depending on how many people send in videos, we cannot guarantee that every video will be included in the final Glee Mission video.

Glee Mission: Spam Army
Before you do anything, watch this video: If we want McFly on Glee (one of their songs, we haven't got THAT must trust in their acting skills... sorry boys) there are a couple of things we need to keep in mind. These are just steps you need to read in order to know what to expect. The steps of action will follow! 1. Permission McFly need to give permission for Glee to use one of their songs. Now, this shouldn't be a problem. Tom is huge Glee fan and the McFly boys have met several Glee actors - we're pretty sure McFly knows what a boost it will give them if one of their tunes is covered by Glee. But there's one problem... or one thing that MIGHT be a problem. Glee will need permission from the Owner of the Copyright, which doesn't always have to be the artist. In our case, we need to make sure that McFly's record label is also in on it. 2. US Record Label We know that this is something that's highly unlikely to happen without McFly having a US record deal. This doesn't kill the mood though, because we want Glee to want McFly - that's the goal. Once Glee want McFly, it'll push the case forward and with Billboard's previous tweets about loving McFly, we can only predict good things. 3. Songs of choice If we stick to one song, it's going to give Ryan Murphy (the creator of Glee) a specific choice. This means he has to listen to the song, go yay or nay and be done with it. This means that there's a 50% chance of us getting what we want. That's too low. If we're all going to shout different songs, that means that he's going to have to check out all these songs before he can say yay or nay... This means there's more work for him, which he might not enjoy and might not actually do... unless we get annoying. If we send e-mails, letters, spam them on twitter, tumblr, facebook - hit all targets at once, about wanting a McFly song on Glee, there's no way that Ryan isn't going to notice (or will be told about) it. We know spamming isn't fun, and it's not fun to be on the receiving end, but it's the only thing we HAVE. It's gotten us places in the past, so why not the future? 4. If they can do it, so can McFly We can hear you yell "If The Wanted are able to do it, it'll be EASY for McFly!" but don't be mistaken! The Wanted are now on a US tour, have a top 40 US hit, have had their US TV debut on the Ellen Degenerous Show and were radio guests at Ryan Seacrest where they were interviewed, had their track played and played their song acoustically. Basically Glee just called them up and said "We want that song." after hearing it everywhere. McFly won't get the same treatment... just be aware of that. 5. Support system Keep in mind that there are people who are ON Glee that are excited about McFly being on the show too - it's not just us. Here are some quotes that make sure that we're not going to give up on this: “There’s so many artists that have these massive collections. I mean, I’m still hoping for a McFly episode, but that will never happen. I love McFly.” - Kevin McHale (we are excited about proving you wrong) "I think I have another year, hopefully, to convince Ryan to let me do a McFly song. But the problem is that I have no idea which song. They don't really know McFly, so I'm really going to have to go in and kind of sell it. There needs to be an entire presentation." - Kevin McHale (let us take care of the presentation) "Yeah, 'All About You' would be incredible. I know Darren Criss and I talked about doing 'All About You.' We both love McFly." - Kevin McHale (adfghjkhgfdsa) 6. Spread the word It's one of the stupidest things ever, but whenever you ask someone who isn't a McFly fan, in the US, if they know McFly... the only thing they can hold onto is "Oh yea, that band from Just My Luck, right?" because that's the only big thing McFly have done that is US related. This kills us because look at how different they are now. It's stupid to think that what you saw it that film is what McFly is really like... but there's a chance that the people behind Glee have this mindset. We are going to have to show them that McFly has different sides to them, different songs, different styles and songs that go from ballroom band to sweaty underground band. They have it all and we need to shove it under their noses. This is why we want you to spread the video you just watched around - share it with your friends, other fans of McFly and other fans of Glee. Now that we've got you in the right mindset, let's carry on with the actual mission. /// Friday 6 April 2012 - 7:00pm (UK time) til 12:00pm (UK time) This is the day and the time where we are all going to go mad. Absolutely crazy. We need our Spam Army to be ready; have your e-mail boxes open, your twitter pages open, your facebook pages open and even your tumblr pages open. You can either choose one of the following ways to spam, or work them all into a spam-routine. We prefer if you did the latter, of course. The more voices, the better. We are giving you pre-set tweets, but you don't have to use these of course. You can tweet tracks for them to listen to, tell them why you want McFly to be covered by Glee, give them tons of reasons why this is a good idea - just make sure you sneak a link to the video shown above in there. It's important that everyone gets to see the video for more information on McFly. Tweet the following (on Friday 6 April!) "We want Glee to cover McFly!! http://missionmcfly.com #gleemission" to the following people on twitter: @bfalchuk @aliadler @hitchmichael @martinoxon @mhodgson207 @alxanders @adamanders (These are people who write Glee, produce Glee, produce their music and basically have everything to do with Glee behind the scenes.) @GLEEonFOX @gleetv (If we get an RT of one of these guys, we have a HUGE audience to work with!) @druidDUDE @DarrenCriss @msamberpriley @jennaushkowitz @rikerR5 @curtmega @titusmakinjr (These are Glee actors that are fans of McFly / have met McFly / know of McFly.)
